Crowe unhappy with the Murali doosra

The former New Zealand captain, Martin Crowe has asked the ICC to review the action of Sri Lankan spin wiz, Muttiah Muralitharan particularly for the famous “doosra” delivery to which the best of the best batsmen have fallen prey to.

During the recent Sri Lankan 217 run victory over New Zealand, Crowe, who was commentating in the match suggested that Muralitharan’s action had to be tested to ensure that his arm did not flex more than permitted resulting in a “doctored” delivery.

Sri Lankan batsman Mahela Jayawardene came to the aid of the fellow teammate and claimed that it was wrong to blame him just because he has recently performed well and has recorded a 10 wicket haul for the Sri Lankan’s.

“It’s quite sad it’s gone this far. From a cricket point of view this is something that has to stop,” he said. “It’s a ridiculous situation. Murali shouldn’t be penalised every time he takes 10 wickets. They [the SLC] will do a presentation to the ICC as well. If he [Crowe] wants to take it higher up … depending on the outcome we will also react.”

Its quite unfortunate thing that many english player, whether former or current, start balaming and accusing asin players when they face defeat. I think this comment gets a bit rude but its true that we have seen biased behaviour from many Engilsh esp Australian players and media towards Asians.
